Hi, I’m Christian, a product designer and undergraduate at Dartmouth College majoring in Engineering Sciences and Studio Art, with a minor in Human-Centered Design.
I’m deeply passionate about using design as a tool for empathy, impact, and innovation. Human-centered design sits at the core of my work. I love diving into complex, real-world problems and working alongside peers to craft thoughtful, functional, and meaningful solutions. Whether I’m sketching concepts, iterating prototypes in the machine shop, or conducting user-centered design research, I find joy in the collaborative process of turning ideas into experiences that truly resonate with people.
This device is designed to help users with limited mobility open produce bags when shopping in grocery stores.
This project focused on a feasibility analysis to support the implementation of an electric bike battery swap station in rural Morocco.
We redesigned standard gloves to help students at Dartmouth keep their hands warm while staying on top of their busy schedules.
My work spans from sculptures of clay, wood, and metal to drawings in pastel, charcoal, and encaustic.
My background spans engineering design, sculpture, and digital fabrication, and I’ve applied those skills in diverse settings, from soft-robotic development at MIT, to community-focused design consulting, to teaching assistant roles that help guide the next generation of designers. I have worked on a number of design-based projects focusing on technical, systemic, and use-based solutions to a wide range of challenges. My work has taught me how to collaborate effectively with peers across disciplines, contribute meaningfully as a team member, and step into leadership roles when needed. Through these experiences, I’ve learned how to manage the moving parts of long-term design projects, balance timelines and logistical constraints, facilitate healthy and productive team dynamics, and iteratively prototype, all while keeping the user at the center of every decision.
Applying the principles of design thinking, I’ve tackled challenges that range from physical product development to community-based systems design. I’ve developed a strong ability to navigate ambiguity, gather user insights, and translate them into thoughtful, innovative solutions. Above all, these projects have reinforced my belief in design as a collaborative process rooted in empathy, creativity, and continuous learning.
Beyond design, I find inspiration in the outdoors, whether I’m backpacking through the Grand Canyon, kayaking between islands in Bar Harbor, or watching a sunset over Puget Sound. I also love channeling creativity through sculpture, drawing, and hands-on craft, exploring the ways nature can inform not just thoughtful design, but artistic expression.
